India post while releasing its schedule of stamps to be released in the year 2011 , in Jan. 2011 itself declared that a commemorative stamp will be released on 30 /4/ 2011 on UMRAO KUNWAR JI “ARCHANA” . The stamp is of course released . Luckily there is no rescheduling of date . further there is no premature release also from any corner of the country . But shockingly there is no supply of stamps also . The information brochure put on sale describes total quantity printed as 3 million + 1 million for Jaipur bureau. Against supply of 1 million only 20 thousand stamps are reportedly supplied to the sponsors till date. Insufficient quantity of stamps is received at selected bureaus across the country. Even at Ajmer bureau no stamp is received till now. Even during release function , the stamps diverted from Jaipur/Jodhpur were used and made available under strict control and in a rationed manner. It is reliably learned that these were the instruction from the top . The total sale on the release date is reportedly of Rs 30000 which includes F.D.C and I.B .This reveals stamps worth Rs 28000 were sold . If that be the case ,where are the remaining stamps . Is it another case where officials responsible for smooth supply of material to the public are intending to indulge in hoarding/creating artificial scarcity in collusion with vested interests who are only interested in making easy / fast money.
