Year 2010 witnessed one more pre-matured release of Postage Stamp in Indian Philately.  Due to India Post’s repeated habits of postponing or withholding the pre decided releasing programmes of stamps in the eleventh hour brought one more stamp in the pre-matured series/group of Gurugranth Sahib, Bridges of India, Spices of India, Jasmine, Kanyakumari rock memorial, De Facto transfer of Pondicherry, Indian Coast Guards etc.. National Mathematic Day not yet been released by India Post is well available in the open market with the Dealers and Philatelists

Who is the actual culprit of doing such type of mischief, whether the philatelic advisory committee or Ministry who is giving approval for such type of flexi programmes.  During 2010 India Post revised thrice the programme schedule.  In second schedule clearly it was mentioned as stamp on National mathematics Day will release on 21st December 2010. Later changed the date and eleventh hour given instruction to withheld the stamps.

The national workshop held in Tirupati on 26th September 2010, on “Ancient Indian mathematics with special reference to Vedic mathematics and Astronomy, which concluded at Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha,  passed a resolution for recommending to the state agencies that the birth Anniversary of mathematics legend Srinivasa Ramanujan be observed as “National Mathematics Day” on December 22nd. India post decided to release a stamp to honouring theWorld renowned mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan on his 113th Birth Anniversary  22nd December 2010 marked as “National Mathematics Day”.  Why this was withheld or postponed is not clear.,Whether this will release in future that also is not clear .

One Response to India-Withheld Stamp is Out,Another Premature Release of 2010

IndiaPost don`t seem to value credibility. National Mathematics Day-will it also joint the list of withdrawn stamps ? Mind, printed but not released stamps of GOA have no value. IndiaPost must punish officials/employees responsible of such act. Suspend, expel, blacklist and make them gorge-out any illegal gains made by them. If GOI does not care about premature issues etc. , then does it mean that nobody in either Indiapost or GOI thinks that Postal department of India has any reputation to defend.
