A District Level exhibition DHAROHAR was organised in Balod of Chattisgarh state on 1 – 2nd January.This exhibition included stamps, coins, currencies, and all collectable items including antique materials. In total forty eight participants exhibited there collections from all over Chattisgarh and near bystate Orissa. In this two day exhibition pre-independence and thematic stamps were exhibited. Philatelicmaterial on children, Pakistan, Bhutan, and postal history were displayed by various collectors. Indian andforeign currencies including British India were the spots of attraction. On the first day about 3000 people visited the exhibition.
It was the first time in the history of Balod that such an exhibition of collection of different articles like oldgramaphone, locks and sarota were under display. Different medals and tokens were also displayed. A complete collection on Gandhi including his spectacles, clock, and stamps and coins issued from different parts of the world were nicely presented. In such a small place like Balod the crowd was really impressive.All the collectors were surprised by the interest shown by visitors in all the items.
