India Post Freighter

India Post launched its first aircraft on Aug 29 2007, with the service dedicated to the seven northeast states, and Guwahati as the centre. The aircraft, with a 15-tonne load capacity, carries Speed Post, mail and parcels to various destinations in the north-eastern states.DoP  spent Rs 12 crore including the lease amount and preparing the Indian Boeing 737-200 to take on the new role of a freighter dedicated aircraft capable of carrying 15 tonnes at a time. Kolkata is  the regional hub for the freighter operations.

    I AM VERY SORRY TO SAY THAT DOP HAD CEASED IT`S FREIGHTER OPERATION FROM NORTH EAST.ACTUALLY I WANT TO KNOW WHETHER DOP WILL CONTINUE THE FREIGHTER OPERATION FOR NORTH EAST OR NOT.
