WORLD AIDS DAY

By Raman Kumar Mandal

The AIDS symbol , a simple loop of red ribbon, is one of the most recognised symbols across the world. Created by a group of artists in NEW YORK, USA, in 1991, it symbolises solidarity with people living with HIV and their care givers.

AIDS was first recognized in the USA by Dr. Gottlieb in 1981.

AIDS is caused by the HIV identified by Luc Montagnier, a French scientist from the Pasteur Institute (Paris).\"\"
